Contrast
Light vs Dark
As long as there is adequate contrast between your QR Code and the background it's in front of, people should have no problem scanning it. You can design dark on light and light on dark. The key is in making sure your QR Code pops without it getting lost in the background. Also, sunlight and different print materials will cause glare. If you haven't created enough contrast, users will have trouble scanning your QR Code.

How to Choose
If it's a light coloured background, staying away from lighter shades of yellows is a good idea. The harder a mobile camera fights to search for the shapes that make up a QR Code, the less your customers will want to interact with them. When working with lighter colours we recommend going with solid colour backgrounds.
Size & Shape
Does it matter?
You can have sharp edges or round ones. Dots, squares, and other geometric shapes are available as well. It's important to choose something that looks as though your logo was the inspiration for the design. Once the look and shape look like they belong, you'll need to determine the size you're working with. Too small and not enough space around your QR Codes; you'll have people thinking there is something wrong with their phones.
